Some Healthspan plans may involve a compounded medication prepared by a licensed dispensing pharmacy for an individual patient after a valid prescription. Your physician selects the medication, formulation, dose, and follow-up plan with you.
Compounded medication status
Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are marketed. IVLV does not describe a compounded medication as a generic, equivalent, or clinically proven substitute for an FDA-approved drug.
